Type material: Holotype: female from Mata Santa Genebra , Campinas [22°53' S; 47°04' W], São Paulo, Brazil, 15 October 1998, deposited in IBSP 35148.
Paratype: BRAZIL. São Paulo: Jundiaí (Reserva Biológica Municipal da Serra do Japi) [23°13' S; 46°56' W], 1Ƥ, 6–10 August 2001, Equipe Biota ( IBSP 92452).
Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition that refers to the type locality of the holotype.
Diagnosis. Females of S. genebra n.sp. are distinguished from those of the remaining Neotropical Scytodes by the oval hyaline pockets with a large sclerotized area at the base ( Fig. 96 View FIGURES 94 – 105. 94 – 96 ).
Description. Male unknown.
Female (Holotype, IBSP 35148) Carapace pale orange, lighter at center, with brown pattern as shown on Fig. 94 View FIGURES 94 – 105. 94 – 96 . Chelicerae pale orange with dorsal, longitudinal brown stripe. Pedipalps pale yellow with prolateral brown stripe. Labium and endites pale yellow, distally cream colored. Sternum cream colored with slightly darker margins and black borders in front of each coxae. Legs pale yellow. Femora I–IV with pair of longitudinal, ventral brown stripes. Tibiae and metatarsi I–IV distally brown. Abdomen pale yellow with faint black pattern ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 94 – 105. 94 – 96 ). Total length 5.4. Carapace domed, 2.8 long, 2.2 wide. Eye diameters: PME 0.14, ALE 0.14, PLE 0.14. Lateral eyes on a tubercle. Chelicerae with subapical hyaline keel and inconspicuous stridulatory ridges. Labium 0.24 long, 0.28 wide. Sternum 1.32 long, 1.1 wide. Leg measurements: I: femur 5.8, patella 0.9, tibia 6.5, metatarsus 8.3, tarsus 1.2, total 22.7; II: 4.5, 0.9, 4.6, 5.5, 1.0, 16.5; III: 4.0, 0.9, 2.7, 3.5, 1.0, 12.1; IV: 4.6, 0.9, 4.3, 4.9, 1.0, 15.7. Palpal femur with stridulatory pick short and stout with rounded and projected socket. Epigynum with small positioning ridges with two to three ridges, separated from each other by 4–5 times their width ( Fig. 95 View FIGURES 94 – 105. 94 – 96 ). Vulva with globose spermathecae on narrow stalks adjacent to oval hyaline pockets ( Fig. 96 View FIGURES 94 – 105. 94 – 96 ). Abdomen 2.5 long, 2.0 wide, covered with slender hairs.
