Lectotype (Melderis in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 65: 229. 1972): Herb. Clifford: 81, Gentiana 9 (BM-000558187) .

Current name: Centaurium littorale (Turner) Gilmour View in CoL ( Gentianaceae ).

Note: Difficulties between the competing C. littorale (Turner) Gilmour (1937) and C. minor Moench (1794) led Pringle (in Taxon 36: 482. 1987) to successfully propose the rejection of Moench’s name.
