Pomacentrus nigromanus Weber 1913 —Goldback damselfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens photographed on 3–5 June 2013 during ACIAR Aquarium Survey in Kavieng District; others at St. KVG 17 on the Bismarck Sea side of northern Kavieng District by Serge Andréfouët on 18 Aug. 2014 , and at St. KVG25 (off southeastern New Hanover) by Serge Andréfouët on 22 Aug. 2014 .

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Eastern Indonesia east to Palau and Solomon Islands, south to northwestern Australia, New Caledonia and Loyalty Islands. Found in fringing, lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 6–60 m depth. Marine.
