Centropyge loriculus (Günther 1874) —Flame angelfish

Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a video of a specimen taken at Martha's Shoal, east of New Hanover, St. KR 154, at 6–20 m depth, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell); another taken on the north coast of Kavieng District , at 6–24 m depth, St. KR 164, in 2014.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: Philippines and Papua New Guinea east to Hawaiian Islands, Line Islands and to Marcesas Islands and Pitcairn Group, south to New Caledonia, Tonga and Gambier Islands. Solitary or in aggregations, in lagoon and seaward coral reefs, 5–60 m depth. Marine.
