Status at New Ireland. New record, based on specimens observed at Bauddisson Island, Kavieng District , 1–50 m depth, St. T 4, on 31 Oct. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Marshall Islands and perhaps Johnston Atoll, north to Ryukyu Islands, south to New Caledonia. Found near steep dropoffs, 15–120 m depth. Marine.
