Status at New Ireland. New record for New Ireland and New Guinea, based on NTUM 12161 (4 specimens, 37.6, 45.1, 45.6, 46.5 mm SL, St. CP 4254-46-48, 14.4 km northwest of Kavieng ).
Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines, north to southern Japan, south to New Caledonia. Mesopelagic, 300–480 m depth. Marine.
Remarks. Additional specimens were collected west of Bougainville Island, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, NTUM 12163 (1 specimen, 65.9 mm SL, 05°43'S 154°02'E, 398–406 m depth, R/V Alis, 28 Apr. 2014), and south of Woodlark Island, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, NTUM 12162 (1 specimen, 44.4 mm SL, 09°36'S 152°55'E, 480 m depth, R/V Alis, 1 May 2014); the latter also represents a new depth record, as the species was previously known only from 300–350 m depth.
