Status at New Ireland. New record, based on WAM material (WAM P.28185-011, 1 specimen, Kavieng District ).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Sri Lanka east to Palau and Fiji, north to Philippines and Taiwan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found in estuarine and adjacent marine habitats, 0–10 m depth. Transitional water and marine.
