Centrophorus moluccensis Bleeker 1860 — Smallfin gulper shark

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from New Ireland by White et al. (2018: 49), White & Ko'ou (2018: 12), based on specimens collected recently by trawl during BIOPAPUA cruises (NTUM 11496) and longline off Kavieng (CSIRO H.8001-01, CSIRO H.8002-02, KFRS E628).

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: East Africa, South Africa and Réunion (western Mascarenes) east to Philippines, Taiwan, and Vanuatu, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Demersal, 125–823 m depth. Marine.
