Status at New Ireland. New record, based on a specimen observed south of Nemto Island , New Hanover, St. T 24, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1.—General distribution: Circumglobal in tropical and warm temperate seas. Pelagic, mainly in coastal waters, single or in loose aggregations, 0–120 m depth. Marine.
