Distribution: Zambia and South Africa to NW Mozambique and SW Tanzania.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: macrotis species group. For synonyms see Van Cakenberghe and De Vree (1985). Does not include parisii or benuensis; see Thomas et al. (1995).
