Type Locality: México, Sonora, Río Sonora, Rancho de Costa Rica.

Vernacular Names: Sonoran Harvest Mouse.

Distribution: WC Sonora to WC Sinaloa, México.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).

Discussion: Subgenus Reithrodontomys , megalotis species group. A relict species having close affinity to R. montanus ( Hooper, 1952) .
