63. Tetramphora decussata (Grunow) Stepanek & Kociolek ( Fig. 134 View FIGURES 121–134 )

Basionym: Amphora decussata Grunow.

Type locality: Quarnero; Honduras.

References: Hendey 1964, p. 266, pl. 37, fig. 9; Lobban et al. 2012, p. 298, pl. 54, fig. 5, pl. 55, figs 1–3; Stepanek & Kociolek 2016, p. 138.

Morphometrics: Valves 90–121 (55–110) μm long, 17–21 (15–19) μm wide, and transapical striae dorsally 16 (18– 21) in 10 μm, ventrally 13–14 (16) in 10 μm.

Remarks: Tetramphora decussata is not common, and is found occasionally in the English Channel ( Hendey 1964). This taxon has been reported from Mahé Island of the Seychelles in the western Indian Ocean ( Giffen 1980), Puerto Rico ( Navarro 1982b), Cuba ( Foged 1984), the Caribbean Sea ( Navarro & Hernández-Becerril 1997), Guam in the Pacific Ocean ( Lobban et al. 2012), the Galapagos Island of the eastern Pacific Ocean ( Stidolph et al. 2012), and from the Mediterranean ( Álvarez-Blanco & Blanco 2014). It is a typical tropical taxon inhabiting warmer coasts. It was reported previously in the southern sea of Korean Peninsula in 1984 ( Shim 1994), and in this survey of Jeju Island, it was rarely encountered along the Seogwipo coast.
