Records. Negev: Berosh, Ze'elim, surroundings of Sede Boqer; Arava Valley: Hazeva.

Distribution. Mediterranean ( Spain, Algeria, Libya, Israel), Yemen ( Marusik & Fet 2009) records from Mali and Burkina Faso may refer to sibling species.

Hersiliola simoni (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1872) N C S R – –

Hersiliada simonii O. Pickard-Cambridge 1872: 275 , pl. 14, f. 9 (♂ ♀); Levy 2003: 25, f. 50–56 (♂ ♀).

Records. Common throughout the country.

Note. The species was originally described from plains of the Jordan and Jerusalem.

Distribution. The proven records are from southern Mediterranean only.

Notes. Until recently the family was poorly studied in Israel. A great number of additional species have been recently noted within the country although no records have been published yet (E. Gavish-Regev, pers. com.).
