Note:—The name Crocodylium as used by Hill (1769: 63) is a later orthographical variant of the original name Crocodilium Hill (1762: 22) . It must be corrected in conformity with Art. 61.4 of the ICN ( McNeill et al. 2012). As a result, the combination Crocodilium crocodylium ( Linnaeus 1753: 919) Hill (1769: 63) , even though originally spelled Crocodylium crocodylium , is not a tautonym but a legitimate name.
