Aquatic; stem 3-lobed. Leaves 12-20 cm, loosely inserted and usually with stomata, but otherwise very like those of 1; ligule deltate. Velum almost or completely covering sporangium; megaspores 375— 600 p, granulate with occasional large papillae on upper faces and numerous regular papillae on lower face; microspores red-brown, smooth or very minutely papillose. Shallow lakes. • 5. W. coast of France and possibly W. Spain. Ga?Hs.
