Like 38 but branches strict; leaves oblong, narrowed at base, obtuse, glaucous, lamina usually much longer than petiole; usually only the lowest whorl on each branch subtended by a leaf; valves c. 4 mm, oblong, obtuse, with oblong tubercles 2-5-3 mm. Coasts of W. Europe. Br Ga Hs.
