Rhizome creeping; stems 50-100 cm, erect. Basal leaves about as long as wide, deeply cordate, rounded at apex; petiole longer than lamina. Panicle crowded; branches fasciculate, repeatedly branched; pedicels filiform, up to 3 times as long as valves. Valves 4-5-5(-6) x 3-5- 5 mm, entire, without tubercles. 2« = 20. Strongly nitrophile.
