Misidentification: Nepticula floslactella ; Brown & Gouin 1917: 407— 33 [partim, on Carpinus ].
Material. 76: 1♂, Rouen, Chrétien, gen. EvN3506 ( MNHN) .
Remarks. There is not a single literature reference to this species from France, but Brown & Gouin’s record of S. floslactella on Carpinus very likely belongs to this species. The specimen from Rouen, of which the male genitalia ( Fig. 9–10) were examined by EvN, was already identified as Nepticula carpinella by Chrétien, and apparently later overlooked. This species is likely to be much commoner in France.
