Remarks. Stigmella salicis is the most common and widespread Salix feeding nepticulid, usually on hairy leaved Salix , but the species belongs to an incompletely understood complex together with the next species and probably some undescribed species. Some material from 33Gironde (collected by Le Marchand) is excluded for the time being; it is probably an unnamed species.
