Remarks. Stigmella salicis is the most common and widespread Salix feeding nepticulid, usually on hairy leaved Salix , but the species belongs to an incompletely understood complex together with the next species and probably some undescribed species. Some material from 33­Gironde (collected by Le Marchand) is excluded for the time being; it is probably an unnamed species.
