Ectoedemia quinquella (Bedell, 1848) View in CoL
F: Nepticula quinquella ; Chrétien 1907b: 251— 34; Joannis 1909: 826— 56; Gélin & Lucas 1915: 137— 56

Ectoedemia quinquella View in CoL ; van Nieukerken 1985b: 44— 56, 78; Leraut 2003: 20— 77
Material. 34: 1♂, [ St. Pons ] Nesp., 13.vi.1904, P. Chrétien; 78 : 1♂, Forêt de Marly , 6.vi.1943, H. Legrand ( MNHN); 91 : 2♂, 1♀, Bois de Verrières , 19–29.v.1965, RB (RB) .
Remarks. The identification of the St. Pons specimen was made by EvN before the occurrence in France of the similar Ectoedemia algeriensis was established; it is possible that this specimen belongs to the latter. Unfortunately, during later visits to the Paris museum, EvN was unable to find this specimen for reexamination. Ectoedemia quinquella is known from a number of older records, recently found again in the Paris region. Mines are among the latest to be found; larvae are often still active in November.
