Platypalpus View in CoL sp. 4
Material examined. 1 ♂, 4♀: Amankutan, alpine meadow, 39°17'N, 66°54'E, 1600 m, 23.v.1989, M. Barták ( CULSP).
Remarks. This is a species from the difficult P. minutus complex. It differs from other representatives of this complex by the following combination of characters: legs entirely black; meron entirely microtrichose (without sublustrous spot typical for P. albifacies (Collin)) , abdomen lustrous; left epandrial lamella without setose outgrowth (present in P. niger (Meigen) or Platypalpus sp. 5.); finger-like apical projection on right epandrial lamella saw-toothed. This is an apparently undescribed species, but we hesitate to describe it because the only male specimen is damaged (without wings) and the complex contains other still undescribed species and so deserves special treatment.
