Acrotaphus fuscipennis ( Cresson, 1865) View in CoL
Epimecis fuscipennis Cresson, 1865: 33 .
Acrotaphus fuscipennis ( Cresson, 1865) View in CoL . Assigned by Townes and Townes (1966).
Holotype 3 (IES # 360) lacking wings and metasoma. Although labeled as type, it does not fully agree with Cresson’s original description as the legs are totally yellowish brown, not black, unless they have faded. The specimen is primarily reddish brown, although dorsally it is slightly infuscate. The ocelli are very large and the hind ones more or less touch the eyes. The epicnemial carina is medioventrally strongly raised and projects forwards as a subacute lamella.
