Genus Aspidaphaenops Uéno, 2006 View in CoL
Uéno, 2006: 9
Type species: Aspidaphaenops masakii Uéno, 2006
Remarks. Members of the genus Aspidaphaenops could be divided into two species groups, namely, masakii species group containing three species ( A. masakii , A. volatidraconis and A. dudou n. sp.) and reflexus species group with two species ( A. reflexus and A. xiongda n. sp.). Main differences of the two groups are evident on pronotal and elytral configurations. In masakii species group the mentum bears a seta on either side near base of tooth, the pronotum is barrel-like, widest near the middle, with latero-margins of pronotum narrowly reflexed and elytra more elongate, shoulders not well-marked and sides ciliate throughout, versus mentum with two setae on either side, the pronotum more or less campanulate, widest at basal portion, latero-margins of pronotum strongly reflexed, elytra stouter, shoulders well-marked and evidently serrate at sides in reflexus species group.
Range. Southwest Guizhou ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ).
