2. Sinocyrtaspis huangshanensis haungshanensis Liu, 2000
( Fig. 2–3 View FIGURE 2 View FIGURE 3 )
Sinocyrtaspis huangshanensis Liu, 2000 View in CoL , Zoological Research, 21(3): 220.
Holotype: female; type locality: Tiandufeng, Huangshan, Anhui; location of type specimen: Shanghai Entomological Museum of the Chinese Academy of Science (SEMCAS).
Description. Male. Appearance of this species is similar to the known species of the genus. Pronotum long, reaching middle area of sixth abdominal tergite; metazona strongly raised ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ).
Lateral margins of ninth abdominal tergite slightly prolonged posteriorly ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ). Tenth abdominal tergite prominently elongated posteriorly, basal area wide, outer margins of middle area constricted ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ), lateral margins of apical half somewhat expanded outward, terminal obtusely rounded; posterior margin with a U-shaped notch ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ). Cerci short, not surpassing posterior margin of tenth abdominal tergite, visible in lateral view; conical, apices blunt, inner margin of subapical area with a small tooth ( Fig. 2L View FIGURE 2 ), of which blunt apically. Phallic complex sclerotized, exposed ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ), compressed, terminal extended, faintly trapezoidal, latero-ventral angles expanded outward, subacute ( Fig. 2I View FIGURE 2 ). Subgenital plate slightly rectangular, basal area gently wide, arc-shaped concave, lateral margins of middle area somewhat constricted ( Fig. 2J View FIGURE 2 ), apical half gently bent dorsad ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ), with a triangular concavity on posterior margin; styli stout, inserted on subgenital plate laterally and apically.
This is the first description of the male of the species.
Supplementary description of female. Pronotum short, reaching middle area of first abdominal tergite; anterior margin somewhat straight while posterior margin arc-shaped ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ); posterior margin of lateral lobe slightly expanded ventrally, without humeral sinus ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ). Lateral margins of ninth abdominal tergite gently prolonged posteriorly. Tenth abdominal tergite faintly short, posterior margin depressed in the middle ( Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ). Subgenital plate nearly trapezoidal, basal area wide, arc-shaped concave in the middle, and apical area narrow, posterior margin faintly concave (specimen slightly deformed) ( Fig. 2K View FIGURE 2 ).
Coloration. Body yellowish green, green when alive. Eyes black brown. Male fastigium verticis light brown. Disc of pronotum with 1 longitudinal light brown stripe, lateral margins brown; outer edges of stripe with 1 longitudinal yellow stripe respectively (male yellow stripe disappeared on lateral margins of metazona). Dorsal surface of abdomen with 1 broad longitudinal light brown stripe in the midline; tenth abdominal tergite black brown. Apical area of male genitalia brown. Apices of third tarsi and claws blackish brown and spines of hind tibiae with apices blackish brown.
Measurements (mm). Body: ♂ 10.0–10.2, ♀ 11.4; pronotum: ♂ 5.8–6.4, ♀ 4.2; hind femora: ♂ 8.1–8.3, ♀ 10.5; ovipositor: 6.9.
Material examined. Holotype: ♀, Tiandufeng, Huangshan , Anhui, 27 August, 1983, coll. Dunsu Wu & Yiming Yang. Other specimens: 2♂ 1♀, Tangkou, Huangshan, Anhui, 15 September, 2019, coll. Tao Wang; 2♂, Tangkou, Huangshan , Anhui, 15 September, 2019, coll. Yanqing Li.
Acoustics. The male calling song of this species is performed only at night when the temperature is lower than it is during daytime. The calling song consisted of isolated syllables separated from each other by slightly regular intervals with syllable repetition rates 1.89 Hz. The syllable duration is 0.055± 0.003s. Isolated syllable includes more than 30 impulses which can be divided into 3 parts: soft beginning, main part and echo part. The calling song has a large proportion in the ultrasonic range, but the peak frequency is 16.26±1.94 kHz.
