It was reported from decomposed organic material in Albania ( Červená et al. 2021a). In Hungary, it has been reported from under tree bark in a hardwood grove ( Novák 2013a), from oak-hornbeam forest (Novák 2015), and from beech forest ( Novák 2016). During the present study it was found in stables, in oak-hornbeam forest, and in a willow grooves.

Remarks: This species was originally described by Tömösváry (1882a) from several type localities which now are located in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia (WPC 2023). Lamprochernes chyzeri is widely distributed across Hungary. Lamprochernes chyzeri is morphologically indistinguishable from L. abditus Christophoryová, Krajčovičová, Šťáhlavský, Španiel, and Opatova, 2023 ( Christophoryová et al. 2023).
