Type Locality: Colombia, Vaupes, near Mitu, Durania.

Vernacular Names: Marinkelle's Sword-nosed Bat.

Distribution: SE Colombia.

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Vulnerable.

Discussion: aurita species group. Some specimens previously referred to this species actually represent inusitata ; see Handley and Ochoa (1997).
