Male. Dark yellowish brown ( Figs 1–3 View FIGURES 1–6 ). Vertex with a pair of round brown dorsolateral spots on yellow area, visible in dorsal and anterior aspect. Pronotum with numerous rusty dark brown markings. Scutellum base with a triangular spot on either side, black. Ocelli with a spot on either side of outer lower margin, black. Frontoclypeus with symmetrical black dotted linear spots. Lorum and gena brownish. Forewing transparent with dark brown veins. Hind tibia brown.

Male genitalia. Male pygofer ( Figs 14–15 View FIGURES 14–19 ) nearly triangular, apex bearing four spines with ventral spine longest; lobe at base narrow, gradually broadened toward apex, ventral margin straight. Subgenital plate ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 14–19 ) long triangular, at base wide and gradual narrow to apex, inner margin nearly straight, outer margin rounded. Connective ( Figs 17–19 View FIGURES 14–19 ) with anterior margin Y-shaped, lateral margin concave, toward dorsal curved in lateral view. Aedeagus ( Figs 17–19 View FIGURES 14–19 ), shaft with pair of well-developed lateral flanges, rounded in lateral view, diamond-shaped in ventral view, heart-shaped in anterior view; gonopore subapical on posterior surface.

Measurements. Male: 7.1–7.6 mm.

Material examined. Type. Holotype: male, China, Hunan Prov., Zhangjiajie City , Sangzhi County, Alt. 1420m, 110°09 'E, 29°78 'N, 26.vii.2021, coll. Yao Zhengyuan and Li Guoqing ( IMNU) . Paratypes: China, Hunan Prov.: 21 males, data same as holotype .

Remarks. This species is similar with M. mordvilkoi in its large size, very short vertex and the distribution of spots, but they can be easily distinguished by the above key.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type locality, Hunan province of China.
