Current name: Setaria punctata (Burm. f.) Veldkamp View in CoL ( Poaceae ).

Note: As noted by Veldkamp (in Blumea 39: 381-382. 1994), this is an illegitimate renaming of P. punctatum Burm. f. (1768), and therefore homotypic with it. Earlier treatments, where this had not been recognised and the Linnaean name treated as legitimate, had placed P. brizoides as a synonym of Echinochloa colona (L.) Link.
