Description. See description of D. glabra n. sp.
Colour— “Greyish with darker flecks” (McNeill, 1962); “shiny”; “deep red, carapace patterned with intricate red maze on a lighter fawn to orange background ( Poore, 2004). “Green in appearance but close inspection may reveal carapace to be a fawn to greyish colour. Legs are spotted brown” ( Davey, 1998).
Geographic distribution— Australia, Southern Queensland (Central East coast), New South Wales (Central East coast, Lower East coast), and Victoria ( O’Hara & Barmby, 2000; Davie, 2002; Poore, 2004); known only from limital area ( Davie 2002).
Habitat— In crevices and pools on exposed rocky shores, low intertidal, shallow subtidal ( Davie, 1998, 2002).
