Type Locality: USA, Texas, Clay Co., Henrietta.
Vernacular Names: Texas Kangaroo Rat.
Distribution: SW Oklahoma and NC Texas ( USA).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable; Texas Parks and Wildlife Department – Threatened.
Discussion: Probably no longer occurs in Oklahoma ( Caire et al., 1989). Reviewed by Carter et al. (1985, Mammalian Species No. 232) and Williams et al. (1993). Sexual dimorphism and morphometric variation reviewed by Best (1987, 1993 d) and molecular systematic relationships by Mantooth et al. (2000).
