( Figs. 37–40, 148, 200, 259– 260)

Coniceromyia bilineata Kung & Brown, 2000 a: 3 , fig. 3.

Diagnosis (male). Two bands of wing maculation, one anterior to M 1 and the other adjacent to the wing anterior margin.

Material examined. Holotype ♂, COSTA RICA: Guanacaste: Volcan Cacao: Cerro Pedregal, 10.93 ºN, 85.48 ºW, ii–iv. 1989, Malaise trap, 1000 m, I. Gauld & D. Janzen col. (LACM). Paratypes: 4 ♂, same as holotype; 1 ♂, Guanacaste: Santa Rosa National Park, 10.95 ºN, 85.62 ºW, 21.ii– 14.iii. 1987, Malaise trap, I. Gauld & D. Janzen col. (LACM).

Hypopygium description ( Figs. 37–40). Hypopygium light brown. Epandrium covered with microtrichia mostly dorsally, proximal lateral areas bare; epandrial dorsal suture present. Left epandrial process dorsally setose, with apical setulose lobe and subepandrial transversal setulose elevation. Right epandrial projection with subepandrial group of setulae. Hypoproct with three setae. Right lobe of hypandrium without lateral projection. Geographical distribution. Costa Rica.

Comments. There are nine species with hypopygium very similar to that of C. bilineata : C. caesariata , C. caliga , C. cubensis , C. globosa , C. impluvia , C. impudica , C. reina , C. setitarsalis and C. striativena . Most of these species can be diagnosed by their distinct wing maculation patterning.
