Diagnosis (male). Wing apex truncated; forefemur with long ventral thin setae.
Material examined. Holotype ♂, COSTA RICA: San Jose: 6 km North of San Gerardo, 9.55 ºN, 83.8 ºW, xi. 1992, Malaise trap, 2800 m, P. Hanson col. (LACM). Paratypes: 1 ♂, Cartago: 4 km NE Canon, 9.71 ºN, 83.94 ºW, vi. 1995, Malaise trap, 2350 m, P. Hanson col. (LACM); 1 ♂, same data but vii. 1996; 1 ♂, Villa Mills, 9.57 ºN, 83.73 ºW, xi–xii. 1989, Malaise trap, 3000 m, P. Hanson col. (LACM); 1 ♂, San José: 20km S Empalme, 9.63 ºN, 83.85 ºW, viii. 1988, Malaise trap, 2800m, P. Hanson col. (LACM); 1 ♂, Puntarenas: Las Alturas, 8.95 ºN, 82.83 ºW, iii–v. 1995, Malaise trap, 2100m, P. Hanson col. (LACM).
Hypopygium description ( Figs. 131–134 View FIGURES 131 – 134 ). Hypopygium light brown. Epandrium covered with microtrichia mostly dorsally, proximal lateral areas bare; epandrial dorsal suture present, left suture absent. Left epandrial process dorsally and apically setose, short, ventrally curved and with a medial setulose projection near hypoproct. Right epandrial projection with subepandrial group of setulae. Hypoproct with 2–3 setae. Right lobe of hypandrium without lateral projection.
Geographical distribution. Presently known from four midelevation sites in Costa Rica.
