= Myrcia bombycina (O.Berg) Nied. , Nat. Pflanzenfam. 3(7): 75. 1893. Basionym: Aulomyrcia bombycina O.Berg, Fl. Bras. 14(1): 66. 1857 (type: "Habitat in silvis ad Itacaqure et in fruticetis campestribus inter Porto Alegre et Rio Grande", Sellow s.n., B, probably destroyed; lectotype K, here designated). Syn. nov.
The K sheet's label, although bearing only the name of the species, is written in the hand of Berg, and matches adequately the protologue of Aulomyrcia bombycina .
