Type species: Neoteratura conica s p. nov.
Generic characters. Body small, green. Head hypognathous; eyes globular, protruding forward. Apical segment of maxillary palpi lightly shorter than subapical segment, apical area inflated, apex rounded. Pronotum slightly elongate, lateral lobe longer than deep; humeral sinus indistinct, or absent. Thoracic auditory spiracle exposed, small. Tegmina comparatively shorter, not reaching, reaching or slightly surpassing apex of abdomen, tapering, apices triangularly rounded; hind wings shorter tegmina. Hind femur with genicular lobes rounded, without spines on ventral surface of femur; tibial tympana open on both sides; genicular lobes with apices obtuse, hind tibia with a pair of apical spurs on dorsal and ventral surfaces separately. Male tenth abdominal tergite with posterior margin more or less concave; cercus simple, with branches; genitalia sclerotized, exposed. subgenital plate with styli. Female cercus conical, or clavate; ovipositor moderately upcurved with apex acute.
Discussion. The new genus is similar to Alloteratura Hebard, 1922 , but differs from the latter as follows: apical segment of maxillary palpus slightly shorter than subapical segment, apical area inflated, apex rounded; humeral sinus indistinct; tegmina shorter, not reaching posterior margin of abdomen, or slightly surpassing posterior margin of abdomen, hind wings shorter tegmina; male genitalia sclerotized, simple, cercus divided into two branches, or forked. It resembles. Borneratura Gorochov, 2008 , but it is different from the latter by tegmina and hind wings shorter; male genitalia sclerotized, cercus with branches.
Etymology. Greek neo - means new, teratura is the genus name Teratura .
