Material examined. CHILE, IX, P. N. Nahuelbuta, 37° 49'S 73° 01'W, 1200 m, S. Bílý lgt., 2ɗɗ ( NMPC). Type material was not found, but specimens of this conspicuous species fit the original description very well.
Redescription. Male. Coloration ( Fig. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ): head black with evident, green, blue or violet metallic tinge. Mouthparts chestnut brown to sooty, antennae black, first two antennomeres with distinct, blue metallic tinge, rest of antennomeres very slightly or not metallic tinged. Prothorax saffron yellow, legs, meso- and metasternum and ventral portion of abdomen glaucous bluish green. Elytra dark blue to livid violet.
Eyes entire, slightly prominent, head across eyes very slightly narrower than maximal width of pronotum. Head in front of eyes moderately rostrate, by ca. one fourth longer than maximal length of eye. Last palpomere long, securiform. Antenna reaching elytral midlength, antennomeres 3–10 sequently, moderately dilated posteriorly, antennomere 11 narrowed from its midlength onwards, tapered apically. Surface of head sparsely punctate, with sparse, fine, semierect black pubescence, lustrous. Pronotum moderately wider than long, cordiform, its anterior margin widely rounded, anterior corners arcuate, lateral margins almost straight, converging posteriorly, sinuate before rounded posterior corners, posterior margin widely rounded, moderately turned up. Anterior depressions not developed. Surface of pronotum lustrous, very sparsely, irregularly punctate, with sparse, fine, semierect yellow pubescence. Elytra very slightly enlarged apically, apex of each elytron separately rounded. Elytral venation excluding distinctly developed subhumeral vein only slightly indicated, especially in apical half of elytron. Surface of elytra finely rugulose-lacunose, with short, fine, slightly recumbent brown pubescence, matt. Pygidium exceeding last sternite by one third, narrowly incised apically, last sternite widely emarginate apically ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ). Tegmen semitubular, with long, slender basal projections directed ventrobasally ( Figs. 2–3 View FIGURES 1 – 6 ), aedeagus as in Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1 – 6 .
