Diagnosis. This species has a characteristic abdominal pattern ( Fig. 18B View FIGURE 18 ). The palpal organ of the male resembles that of Hyllus tuberculatus Wanless & Clark, 1975 but can be recognized by the clearly longer embolus (compare Fig. 18C View FIGURE 18 and 19B View FIGURE 19 with fig. 25A in Wesołowska & Russell-Smith 2022). The female is distinctive in having a unique form of the epigyne, which is triangular with two strongly sclerotized flaps in the centre ( Fig. 18E View FIGURE 18 ).

Etymology. The specific name is Latin, meaning “decorated” and refers to its body pattern.

Type material. Holotype: ♂, MOZAMBIQUE: Tete: leg. C.F. Roewer ( SMF 9699 About SMF ).

Paratype: MOZAMBIQUE: Tete: no further details, 1♀ ( SMF 9682 About SMF ) .

Description. Male: Measurements: Cephalothorax: length 5.1, width 3.9, height 2.7. Eye field: length 2.3, anterior width 3.2, posterior width 3.3. Abdomen: length 5.5, width 2.6. General appearance in Fig. 18B View FIGURE 18 . Carapace oval, brown, lighter in centre and darkening to margins, vicinity of eyes black. White patch formed by white hairs at fovea, broad white streaks along lateral margins of carapace. Very long white hairs on lower edge of clypeus. Chelicerae dark brown, with single large tooth on retromargin ( Fig. 19A View FIGURE 19 ), white hairs covering promarginal surface of chelicerae. Sternum light brown, labium and endites dark brown with white tips.Abdomen ovoid, with contrasting pattern; background dark brown, with transverse streak composed of white hairs near anterior edge, large yellow patch on posterior half, posterior tip white ( Fig. 18B View FIGURE 18 ). Sparse long brown bristles on abdominal dorsum. Venter with wide grey streak. Spinnerets light brown. Legs brownish, two anterior pairs dark brown, larger than others. Spines long, leg hairs brown and colourless. Distal ends of tibiae blackish. Palp light brown, clothed in long brown and white hairs. Female: Measurements: Cephalothorax: length 5.3, width 4.4, height 2.3. Eye field: length 2.3, anterior and posterior width 3.5. Abdomen: length 5.6, width 3.9. Shape of body and colouration as in male. Some white hairs between anterior eyes and on frontal surface of chelicerae. Epigyne triangular, two small semicircular depressions in centre with strongly sclerotized flaps above ( Figs 18E View FIGURE 18 , 19D View FIGURE 19 ). Internal structure as in Fig. 19E View FIGURE 19 , spermathecae large, spherical, with narrow duct forming loops in distal parts to fertilization duct.

Distribution. Only known from the Tete Province, Mozambique.
