( Fig. 2 View FIGURE 2 M‒O)

Xyleborus sarawakensis Eggers, 1923: 176 View in CoL .

Ambrosiodmus sarawakensis (Eggers) View in CoL : Wood & Bright, 1992: 680.

Diagnosis: Elytral declivity strongly convex with an acute, granulate costa extending only to interstriae 7, declivital striae not impressed, declivital interstriae 2 bearing a row of 2¯3 tubercles, but not distinctly raised. Eye with lower part larger than upper part. Anterior margin of pronotum with median four teeth fused to form an irregular carina. Very large species, 7.0‒ 7.8 mm long.

Taxonomy: We have examined specimens determined by Browne (NHML) and Schedl (NMW), and Eggers’ detailed description of the species, which is easily recognisable by its large size, and characters of the pronotum, elytra and protibiae. Although the elytral declivity is convex, unlike other species of Immanus , it has the characteristic pronotal and tibial characters of Immanus , and is here transferred to that genus. The correct placement of the species was first noted by S. Smith (Michigan State University), and we are indebted to her for permission to publish the new combination in this paper.

Distribution: East and West Malaysia, Thailand.

New records: [East] Malaysia, Sabah, Sipitang, Mendolong, 25.iv.1988, leg. S. Adebratt (RABC, 1). [West] Malaysia, [Perak], Tapah, 8.ix.1973, G. Minet (NHMB, 1).

Biology: Recorded from Lophopetalum (Celastraceae) , Parinari (Chrysobalanaceae) , Xanthophyllum (Polygalaceae) and an unidentified genus of Annonaceae ( Browne 1961) . The species is evidently polyphagous.
