Material examined. Type material. Holotype, adult male on slide, Dirfys, Greece, leg. P. Cassagnau. Paratype: adult female, the same data as holotype ( MNHNP). Other Material. 2 adult females and 4 juveniles on slides, rotting wood in a deciduous forest, Ignada, Strandzha, Turkey, 24.VI.2000, leg. J. Kania. 4 adult females and 3 juveniles on slides, leaf litter on mountain meadow, Nikits’kyi Pereval, ca. 1450 m a.s.l., neighborhood of Jalta, Crimea, Ukraine, 12.IX.1997, leg. R. J. Pomorski, D. Diagnosis. Habitus typical of the genus Endonura . Dorsal tubercles present, well developed. 2+2 eyes present. Buccal cone elongated. Labral chaetotaxy 4/2, 4. Mandible thin with 4 teeth. Head with 3 chaetae Oc, chaetae A, B, C, D, E and O. Tubercle (L+So) on head with 9 chaetae. Tubercles De on thoracic terga II and III with 3 and 4 chaetae respectively. Tubercles L on abd. III and IV with 4 and 6–8 chaetae respectively. Claw without tooth. Tibiotarsi with short chaetae B5 and B4.

Redescription. Habitus typical of the genus ( Fig. 27 ). Body length (without antennae) 0.40–1.55 mm. Colour of the body greyish-blue of variable intensity. 2+2 large, dark-pigmented eyes. Types of dorsal ordinary chaetae: macrochaetae Ml and Mc thickened, narrowly sheathed, distinctly serrated and not pointed ( Figs 27 , 37 ); mesochaetae thin and pointed.

Head. Buccal cone rather long and rounded at apex. Labrum chaetotaxy 4/2, 4, ventral sclerifications as in Fig. 29 . Chaetotaxy of labium as in Fig. 30 and Tab. 3 . Maxilla styliform, mandible thin with 2 basal and 2 apical teeth. Chaetotaxy of antennae as in Fig. 31–32 and Tab. 3 . Apical vesicle distinct, trilobed. S-chaetae subequal, long and moderately thickened.

Chaetotaxy of head as in Figs 27–28, 30 and Tab. 3 . Tubercle Af narrow ( Fig. 27 ), with chaeta O. Tubercle (L+So) with 9 chaetae (chaeta So2 absent).

Thorax, abdomen, legs. Chaetotaxy of th. and abd. as in Figs 27 , 36 and Tab. 3 . Tubercles Di on th.I not differentiated ( Fig. 27 ). Tubercles L on abd. III and IV with 4 and 6–8 chaetae respectively ( Fig. 36 ). Cryptopygy absent. Male ventral organ present in adult male, built of thickened chaetae on abdominal sterna III–VI ( Figs 35, 36 ). Chaetotaxy of legs as in Figs 33–34 and Tab. 3 . Claw without tooth ( Figs 33, 34 ). Chaetae B5 and B4on tibiotarsi not elongate.

Discussion. (see discussion of E. dentifera sp. nov.)

Remarks. Cassagnau and Peja (1979) described E. quadriseta based on two specimens from the Dirfys Mountains ( Greece). Since original description is devoid of figures and information on mouthparts and male ventral organ we decided to make a modern redescription of this species.
