Distribution: — Synotis alata is widely distributed in Bhutan, Nepal, northern India, northeastern Myanmar, and southwestern China. It grows in forests or thickets at elevations between 1600–4200 m above sea level.
Phenology: —Flowering August to November; fruting November to December.
