Hope; Type — ♀ Westwood, Bacteria remphan, Cat. Phasm. 1859 p. 22 , pl. 23, fig. 4; Type Orth: 609, Bacteria remphan Westw., Hope Dept. Ent. Oxford [OUMNH, No. 609].

Remarks: Examination of the holotype from Colombia in OUMNH and comparison with B. baculus (Olivier) has shown B. remphan to represent a distinct species, hence it was synonymised with Bostra baculus ( Olivier, 1792) by Shelford (1913: 62) in error. The previously unknown ♂ is described below.

Distribution: Colombia [OUMNH]; W-Colombia, Valle del Cauca, Buenaventura [MEFLG].
