Material examined. ETHIOPIA: Bench Maji, Dembi Forest (1260 m) 14.IV.2015 (1Ƌ, 2 nymphs Ƌ, of which one imperfectly moulted into an adult on 17.IV.2015), B. Massa & R. Felix ( BMPC).
Distribution. According to Ragge (1960) and Hemp (2007) H. regularis is only known from Kenya. Newly recorded for Ethiopia.
Habitat. Our specimens were collected at a forest edge ( Figure 2 View FIGURE 2 c).
Remarks. According to Ragge (1960) this species is related to H. elongata (Rehn 1914) from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ruanda [including also H. reticulata (Karsch, 1889) that he considered synonym of H. elongata ]. These species seem to be restricted to the Rift Valley of East Africa. Its subgenital plate is in accordance with the drawing in Ragge (1960). The stridulatory file is very peculiar, sinuous, and consists of ca. 100 teeth, of which proximal 10 are larger than remaining ( Figure 29 View FIGURE 29 ).
