DESCRIPTION: See Langton (1984, 1991) and Langton & Cranston (1991).

COMMENTS. Langton (1984) described this species as if it was the pupal exuviae of O. oblidens Walker , but Langton himself (1991) denied it, naming it Orthocladius Pe 4. Cranston & Langton (1991) keyed this species near to O. rubicundus , because of the presence of well separated point fields on abdominal tergites. Now (Langton, pers. comm.) it is known as the pupa of O. dentifer .
