Diagnosis (modified from Gustafson & Short 2010 and Clarkson et al. 2014).
Small to medium sized beetles (2.1–4.6 mm in length). Body broadly oval and highly convex (Fig. 1 and Fig. 2). Antennae with nine antennomeres; club loosely segmented (Fig. 2). Clypeus broad and expanded to cover labrum, truncate to slightly arcuate apically. Elytron without striae except for a sutural stria on posterior third and continuing to apex (Fig. 1 and Fig. 4); slightly explanate on posterior half (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, and Fig. 4). Prosternum narrow, not carinate medially (Fig. 2). Preepisternal plate longitudinal and linear, forming a composite structure with the raised portion of the metaventrite (meso-metaventral keel) (Fig. 2 and Fig. 3). First metatarsomere longer than second (Fig. 2). Tarsi with brush of setae ventrally (Fig. 2 and Fig. 4).
