Holotype information. Type locality: Nigeria, Ibadan. Deposited at the Natural History Museum ( BMNH), London, U.K. (not examined).
Remarks. Chopard (1961) compared this species with Eumodicogryllus bordigalensis (= Tartarogryllus bordigalensis ) and M. conspersus , and he indicated the genitalia of it is more similar to E. bordigalensis than M. conspersus , but this species is more like the species of the subgenus Promodicogryllus than the species E. bordigalensis . Thus, we transfer it here.
