Modicogryllus (Eumodicogryllus) vicinus, Gorochov, 1986: 3

Holotype information. Type locality: Afghanistan, Herat, Bala Murghab. Deposited at the Moravské zemské Museum, Brno , Czech (not examined).

Remarks: When proposed this species, Chopard (1968: 276) indicated that it is difficult to distinguish it from E. bordigalensis (= burdigalensis ) unless using male’s genitalia to identify them. When established the subgenus Eumodicogryllus, Gorochov (1986) arranged this species in the taxon, but it is not included in the elevated genus Eumodicogryllus now (Cigliano, et al., 2021). According to features of its epiphallus (referring to Chopard, 1968: 275, Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ), this species should be placed in Eumodicogryllus as done by Gorochov (1986) because it does not possess the characters of Tartarogryllus .
