Smetana, 2007: 31 ( Ocypus ; subgenus Pseudocypus ; Type locality: China, Shaanxi, Qingling Shan); Schülke & Smetana, 2015: 1094 ( Ocypus ; subgenus Pseudocypus ; Catalog of Palaearctic Region).
Material examined. Paratypes: CHINA: Shanxi Province: 2 females, “China , Shanxi prov./ Zhouzhi, Houzhenzi / 18.- 25.7.1998, 3200m / Dr.Vlad.Beneš legit// PARATYPE / Ocypus rhinton / A. Smetana 2006 [Yellow rectangular Card]// l. Dvorak ” (MDC).
Measurements. Body length: 15.2–17.1 mm. CL: 0.49; EL: 2.05; ELS: 1.08; EW: 2.49; HL: 1.91; HW: 2.27; PO: 0.95; PL: 2.32; PW: 2.30.
Distribution. Ocypus rhinton is at present known only from Qinling Shan in Shaanxi Province.
