- Sphaeridium scarabaeoides ( Linnaeus, 1758)

Orchymont (1927) and Hafez (1939a, b) reported the occurrence of S. scarabaeoides in Egypt. In North Africa, the species is known only from Algeria and Tunisia ( Hansen 1999; Hebauer 2006; Fikáček et al. 2015).

- Sphaeridium senegalensis Laporte, 1840

Hebauer (1997) reported a doubtful record of S. senegalensis from Egypt. The species has an Afrotropical distribution and is absent from Egypt and the entire Palearctic region ( Hebauer 2006; Fikáček et al. 2015).
