Genus Neostylopyga Shelford, 1911 View in CoL
Type species: Blatta rhombifolia Stoll, 1813 . By subsequent designation.
Notes. The name Neostylopyga was proposed by Shelford (1911b) to replace the preoccupied generic name Stylopyga Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1865 .
The genus Neostylopyga includes Blattinae cockroaches with strongly reduced tegmina and wings. The remarkable diversity in structure of the male genitalia gives us an opportunity to assume this genus is artificial and needs to be revised, in particular on base of extensive investigation of the genitalic structures.
The structure of the male genitalia of the type species, N. rhombifolia , resembles Periplaneta americana ( Linnaeus, 1758) , the type species of the genus Periplaneta Burmeister, 1838 ( Anisyutkin 2010) .
