Type locality: Trinidad and Tobago, Port of Spain city, Belmont ( Brennan and Jones 1960). Type host: Artibeus jamaicensis Leach, 1821 View in CoL ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ). Type depository: USNM (holotype and paratypes), FMNH (paratypes), NHMUK (paratypes) and SAM (paratypes). Panama records. Brennan and Jones (1960) reported this species from Carollia
sp. ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ) from Barro Colorado Island, Panama Province. Years later, Brennan and Yunker (1966) reported this species from four phyllostomid bats, C. perspicillata View in CoL ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ) from Summit Botanical Gardens, Panama City and in Barro Colorado Island, Panama Province, Glossophaga soricina (Pallas, 1766) View in CoL ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ) from Bocas del Toro Province and in Cerro Hoya National Park, Los Santos Province, Vampyrum spectrum View in CoL (L., 1758) ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ) from Bocas del Toro Province, and an unidentified bat from Los Santos Province. New records. 1 larva (IBSP 12541), Coiba Island, Veraguas Province, 04 Dec. 2012, Glossophaga soricina View in CoL ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae View in CoL ). Other records.
