Type locality: Panama, Chiriquí Province, Cerro Punta ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Type host: Sturnira ludovici Anthony, 1924 ( Chiroptera : Phyllostomidae ). Type depository:

USNM (holotype and paratypes), FMNH (paratypes) and NHMUK (paratypes). Panama records. In addition to the type host data, this species was found on Myotis sp. ( Chiroptera : Vespertilionidae ), collected at the same locality as the type series ( Brennan and Yunker 1966). Other records. Mexico ( Colín-Martínez et al 2018) and Venezuela ( Brennan and Reed 1975).
